Since years I use smtp.tot.net, port 25 to send my email. Today i get an error message.

Error Number: 0x800CCC79: The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was '********* Server: 'smtp.totisp.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.1 Relaying denied.

Does anyone else have the same problem?

Don't know if this will help or not.

I recently signed up with ToT and the information provided for the SMTP was smtp.totisp.net

Maybe they changed and neglected to tell existing customers.

Obiwan, I am having the same problem with the same error message since this morning too. Have spent hours trying to search the reason and try to find a solution but no success. I too have used the same smtp and port as yourself.

I am hoping now that there is someone else having the same problem that it may just be a glitch with tot and somehow solve itself soon.

It would be great if you do find a solution to the problem that you let me know.

What is the receiver's e-mail? is it for [email protected]?

Hotmail blocks SMTP servers from which it has received spam.

If the above is the case contact TOT and they will have to contact hotmail to have their server unblocked.

I had the same problem on TRUE with hotmail and Yahoo receivers some years ago until TRUE changed to a new SMTP server which requires authentication. No problem since.
