Hello,

Your understanding is correct.

Fiera Milano is the new exhibition centre in the outskirts of Milan.

Fiera Milano City is old exhibition centre within the city Borders.

I am guessing that you will be using the train to reach Milan from Rome....if so you can use just catch the Metro to go either one.

If you are landing in MXP or LIN the cost by taxi could be very very expensive (I am guessing around EUR100).

For further information please check here:

Also....when/if travelling on the Metro/City...please always keep an eye on your bags, NEVER EVER leave them alone not even for a second. Too many gipsies around who target tourists/foreigners...

Unfortunately, can be said for most of Europe nowadays. Gypsies. One stole my wife's purse in Portugal, and we saw numerous attempts while in Paris. Also had a pickpocket attempt in Madrid on the subway and a good friend lost his passport on the bus in Rome...the day before he was suppose to leave!

For sure visit the galleria in Milan, as well as the outstanding church next door. Absolutely fantastic!!! And if you can, see "The Last Supper" painting, if it is still on display. If you are into opera, the opera house there is awesome.

Thanks, Giruzz.

Are you suggesting that it would be cheaper by train to Rome compared to taxi from either airport at Milan ?

btw, does that also mean Rho Pero is at the outskirts ? I have been trying to locate Fiera Milano using Google Map but it just doesn't show which street the exhibition centre is located.

Hello,

You can go by high-speed train, I think takes 3.5hrs from Rome city centre to Milan city centre. Have a look on trenitalia.com, depending on how much in advance you book you can find tickets for 49EUR (one-way).

If you are flying try Easyjet (landing in MXP), I think that Lufthansa and Ryainair do it as well. Alitalia will be very expensive.

Rho & Pero are just outside Milan (about 10-15kms). This link should help you:

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I'm aware that I can travel from Rome to Milan via high speed train - the red arrow line. But I'm still confused as to the whereabouts of Fiera Milano. Which is the railway station, which is high speed train station, which is the metro station? How are inter-related in terms of location vis-a-vis Fiera Milano? I don't get all these in the google map.

And the city of Milan has more than one high speed train stations, which means the red arrow line that connects from Rome to Milan may not stop at the station nearest of Fiera Milano.

In addition to viacc65's answer:

The Fiera is North East of the centre of Milano (look at the sign "A"):

Which is the railway station ? etc: Those question were answered before when member giruz sent you the map: HOW TO GET THERE, there are answers for car, train, plane and underground. (below the small photo on the left)

YES, the M - RED ARROW LINE stops at the Fiera and the station is called Rho-Fiera T.A.V. *

Thanks, but I'm completely lost !

Everything will make sense if one already knows the place. But for first timer who doesn't understand Italian, it's very confusing.

The satellite map doesn't help. It doesn't show the distance in a map between the exhibition ground and the nearest station. I have flipped the google for a map that connects this two places, but there isn't anything.

I want to know if I understood the terms correctly, since I don't understand Italian at all.

Fiera Milano which means Fair MIlan is right above an underground station, which is Metro Station. The name of the Metro Station is Rho Fiera. Correct ?

Rho Fiera is a metro station, and not a railway station or high speed train station (the Frecciarossa type)

So if I travel using Frecciarossa from Rome to Milan, it will get me to Milan City but not Rho Fiera Station.

The Freeciarossa stops at Milano Centrale which is connected to a Metro Station. So I can take a train from Metro Station in Milano Centrale Station to Rho Fiera ??
