On 3Rd Tourist Thai Visa - Extend Or Die Conundrum

Featured Replies

Situation:Australian has has used 3x60 day tourist visas over the last 6 months, with no extensions each time. None were multi-entry. Embassies:1 x visa from Sydney, Australia (Flew in with this)2 x visas from Penang, Malaysia (Border X'd with this)Extensions cost 1900 thb for 30 days.Border run grants 14/30 days by land/air respectively. Are either of the above options available given I'm approaching the 180 mark in 6 months? Is there a better option/more economical one? Also, are triple entry tourist visas available to Aussies for free (as with 60 day singles until end March 2011)?Searching forums, but left things a bit late and need answers fast. Lao lao and all that.Prease to helping.Kapun Kap

i think there might be a risk that u get 7 days extension for 1900baht .... just guessing...

There is no 180 days rule anymore, it didn't apply to visas anyway.

You could apply for a double entry tourist visa in Phnom Phen or Vientiane. At this moment nothing is sure, but the fact that you don't have any extensions should help.

Mario! You're a life saver ... and a peppy gaming icon.

Want to double check at an embassy before relaxing too much though. Opens at 9 tomorrow I think. Man, if F Saucer is right then that's what, 270thb a day for an extra week. Still, cheaper than the 500 overstay without a permit deal.

Ooookaaaaaaayyy. So I'm thinking of going to a Thai embassy and having a crack at obtaining yet another 60 tourist stamp - last freebie of the year since the offer ends March 31 - and I kind of want it in a hurry. There's some prime puddles this soi ma needs to lap up before the harsh, high-season sun dries them all up. Which embassy in which city with an airport is the best mix of cheap, safe and convenient for a Southern ma to fly from and to. There's airports in Hat Yai and Phuket that fly international-like, so ... maybe Malaysia again, but a different embassy would be smarter if I have multiple, back-to-back stamps from the one in Penang already, right?

KL has an embassy too - I don't know too much about expat Thais, but if the ones working the embassies in neighbouring countries behave like their local counterparts - well, anything's possible, mai?

Perhaps a standard, awful, minivan ride across the border to Penang, and if that fails, on to KL? Or vice versa? I can still cross the border for 14 days or fly back for 30 sans visa as well, khap, ok?

Again - anyone know about free multi-entries for Aus/US/Brits?

The link in post 3 gives you the current situation.
