nevcross
Has anybody got any information on, or taken up the offer promoted by this local(?) promotion company. State can offer flights to europe for 320euros, significantly cheaper than any other ie airline, promotion, they say they are able to do this because of links with local hotels and Thai tour industry, I'll reserve my judgement........p
JimSiam
Their brochure says they offer flights FROM Europe, with accommodation at the Camelot Hotel, Mr Macs Hotel, Caesars Palace Hotel and various serviced apartments around Pattaya. They also say if we cannot get you a flight within 7 days of your preferred date they will refund your deposit. Also - You must purchase a minimum of 7 consecutive nights' accommodation in a Pattaya from our online selection. (I guess this is where they make what they loose on the airfare) Check their T&C's

sedge
Must admit I think the maxim 'If it looks to good to be true ...' applies here! Out of interest their website promoting the Thai end doesn't mention any TAT licence number that I can see, and similarly their UK website doesn't have any ATOL or ABTA licence numbers either, all of which I believe are mandatory to act as a travel agent here and in the UK. At least they were when I ran a travel business in Phuket in the 90's! Edited February 15, 2011 by sedge

Its not rocket science is it? So why is this company still trading? With the backing of the local media here in Pattaya. Even though the proprietor of the leading media outlet here in Pattaya is also a leading light in the volunteer police, whilst at the same time actively promoting this obvious scam. For his own financial gain. I cant think of anywhere else in the world where this would be allowed to happen. Unbelievable. He obviously is untouchable. This has been highlighted on other forums. It shocks me that no in depth checking has been done by the Pattaya police or other media outlets. It sounds like a scam and probably is a scam. It is aimed at tourists, not Thai residents or expats. It wants money from people who will shortly be leaving the country, what a wonderful way to make money. The thing is that Pattaya Tourism will be the worse for it as it will be a case of nevergetmebacktopattayaagain.com. Having worked in the airline business no one company representing one city could do a deal with so many airlines at that rate. Most airlines will want the credit for any deals and will advertise on their own websites. Really smells like a rat yet I can see it carrying on for a long time before somebody in authority wakes up and smells the coffee. By then Khun K will be well away from Pattaya. Surely there is somebody on this forum who can make the checks................or knows the right contacts to prevent this carrying on should it prove to be a scam. Sunny Tourism Executor I hqave done some checks.... Brisbane RBA Office to me show details 6:43 AM (2 hours ago) Good morning A very impressive website. I have not heard anything of this previously but similar "deals" have been seen where you have to sit through a sales talk for purchasing a room share similar to Accor and others here. Maybe you could contact Thai Airways to see if they have heard anything. We are not holding a booking on the dates shown in your name but that doesnt mean anything as nothing has been paid for the travel voucher. Thailand is pushing to get tourists back to the area and this sounds like a district tourism office doing a promotion. No doubt you prepay hotels at a higher price to cover a portion of the airfare. I noticed that the official Thailand Tourist Authority logo was not shown or mentioned. That is another one you could contact www.thailand.net.au or phone 02 9247 7549. They may have some knowledge of this "deal" Old story, you dont get nothing for nothing, so buyer beware as they obviously cover their costs somehow. best regards David Burrus Royal Brunei Airlines Level 1, 60 Edward Street Brisbane Qld 4000 ************************************* Administration 07 3017 5010 Fax: 07 3210 6389 Reservations: 07 3017 5000 Fax: 07 3221 7767 ************************************* Email: [email protected] Wedsite: www.bruneiair.com *************************************
