rixalex
Hi,For many months now i have been using VLC media player to watch downloaded avi files. In the last week or so though, the audio has started to stutter every minute or so for a few seconds. Picture seems ok. Tried downloading the latest updates but problem remains. Any ideas people? Thanks.
Langsuan Man
In VLC player, while it is playing, go to Audio > Audio Device > Mono (instead of Stereo) If that doesn't solve it, delete the program and then reinstall it VLC does have a tendency to become corrupted over time, but is still, IMHO, the best player out there

I tried switching to Mono. No change. As far as deleting and reinstalling goes, i think i have effectively already done this, as when i requested updates it made me uninstall before it installed the latest version. Anything else it could be?
Darrel
Is this on all files or only some? Try using WMP instead, just to see what happens.
Laawman
I've had this a couple of times in the past - solved by hunting down the latest audio drivers for the soundcard. Worth a try.
sbk
I have this on my netbook too, and it does teh same for WMP too, audio drivers update seems to be the culprit then, will search them out
Supernova
VLC is a piece of crap. Use KMPlayer or get MPC-HC. Both offer superior playback quality along with a host of other options.
angiud
If you use it with Windows 7, cold be an insufficient RAM issue. I'm just a computer newbie...
steve187
try completely uninstalling and do a fresh install. the update option always causes me problems. Is it when reading from one drive only?
edmartech
Try other player first. Gom Player or KMP. If it still the same, look for an updated audio driver. If it still persists, it's possible that a program/application is the culprit.
