Prince William picks brother Harry as best man

2011-02-14 19:18:43 GMT+7 (ICT)

LONDON (BNO NEWS) -- Clarence House, the official residence of several royals, on Monday announced that Prince William has chosen his brother Harry to be his best man at his wedding.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are set to marry at Westminster Abby on Friday, April 29, but few details about the wedding have yet been released.

"Prince William has asked his brother, Prince Harry, to be his Best Man," a statement from Clarence House said. "Miss Catherine Middleton has asked her sister, Miss Philippa Middleton, to be her Maid of Honour."

In addition, William and Middleton have chosen six bridesmaids and page boys. Among them is 7-year-old Lady Louise Windsor, the daughter of the Earl and Countess of Wessex, and 10-year-old William Lowther-Pinkerton, the son of William's private secretary.

"Details about the Bridesmaids' dresses and the Page Boys' uniforms will be made available on the Wedding Day," Clarence House added in the brief statement.

The couple met at Scotland's St. Andrew's University in 2001 and began dating two years later, in 2003. They became engaged in October 2010 during a private holiday in Kenya.

Clarence House previously said that, following the marriage, the couple will live in north Wales, where Prince William will continue to serve with the Royal Air Force.
