Tourist Visa In Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

I have to extend my 2 month tourist visa, where in Chiang Mai is the correct office and how much does the 30 day ex cost?

All extensions cost 1,900 baht and require you to submit a pass photo.

The immigration office is on your left hand when you go from Airport Plaza towards the airport itself. About 500 meters from the Airport Plaza.

Thanks Mario, how long does the process usually take, assuming I get there when the office opens?

Time Will depend on the the amount of people. Guess 30 minutes to 2 hours. The office will be closed Feb 18,19, and 20 for holiday.

It is advised to arrive in another post at 0730 to obtain number from desk and official will start providing queue numbers based on that at 0800 - actual processing will start at 0900. It is reported to be very busy currently.

I show up as early as 6:30 AM. Yes I know that stinks. If you do that you can be done in half an hour. They open at 8:30AM and start to pass out numbers from their machine. These numbers are normally gone by 9:30 and you will be luck y to get one for the next day. The only time people do not have much of a wait is when they are doing a 90 day report. Just walk in and get a number for such even at 2PM and you should be out in about 30 minutes.
