News_Editor Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Hezbollah leader warns Israel against war‎ 2011-02-17 01:23:16 GMT+7 (ICT) BEIRUT (BNO NEWS) -- Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah on Wednesday called on fighters to be ready for a new war with Israel and threatened to take over the Galilee in northern Israel in case of war, Ynet News reported. "I'm telling the fighters of the Islamic resistance: Be ready for the day, should war be forced upon Lebanon, where the resistance's leadership will ask you to take over the Galilee," Nasrallah said at a rally marking the anniversary of the assassination of the group's leader Imad Mughaniyeh. Hezbollah blames Israel for the bomb blast that killed Mughaniyeh in Syria in 2008. "I'm telling the Zionist commanders and generals, wherever you go, anywhere in the world and at any time, you always need to look out, because Imad Mugniyah's blood had not been spilled in vain," he added. On Tuesday, Israel's Defense Minister Ehud Barak toured the border with Lebanon and said that Israel must remain prepared on their northern border. "Hezbollah remembers the heavy beating they suffered from us in 2006, but it is not forever, and you may be called to enter again," Barak said, as reported by Israeli daily Haaretz. Israel also shut down several diplomatic missions temporarily as result of "unusual incidents against Israeli targets" coinciding with the upcoming anniversary of the assassination of the military leader, Ynet News reported. On Friday, the Israel Counter Terrorism Bureau issued a travel warning, which included countries like Egypt, Turkey and Armenia, in anticipation of threats resulting from the anniversary. Israel and Hezbollah fought a 33-day fierce in 2006 which killed 1,200 people in Lebanon, most of them civilians, and 160 Israelis, mostly soldiers. -- © BNO News All rights reserved 2011-02-17
