Bahtbus knocks down teenagers on motorcycle

On Sept 6th at 2.00 in the morning,Bahtbus knocks down teenagers on motorcycle

Pattaya is dense with traffic as we all know. There are many accidents occurring every day, that could easily be avoided if a little common sense prevailed. We can't report on every accident, but we will tell you about this one, just to highlight how simple actions can avoid injury and possible death.

On Sept 6th at 2.00 in the morning, police were called to an accident on 2nd Road in front of the Lek Hotel. Police arrived with the essential Sawang Boriboon, to find 2 slightly injured teenagers laying on the road, after colliding with a taxi bus (known locally as a Song Taew) that had attempted to turn right into Soi 14, without indicating, causing the motorbike rider and his passenger to crash into the drivers side door.

Police sent the 2 youths to Banglamung Hospital, carting the taxi driver, named Watcharin Prongpak, off to the Pattaya Police Station, where he was charged with reckless driving and - rightly so – handed a heavy fine.

There are few road rules followed in Pattaya - we are all aware of that - but most Baht Bus drivers seem to write their own rules and contribute substantially to the overall danger to traffic and pedestrians around town, in their over zealous hunt for passengers, with scant regard to the safety of others.
