Satellite Codes - Information Required

Featured Replies

I would like to learn more about Satellite Codes - the codes that "unlock" the decoders in satellite TV systems.

What I specifically want to know is whether publishing these codes is legal. I would have thought the manufacturers and operators of these systems would be trying their hardest to keep them secret so they can extract fees from the users.

Is this just a case of "TIT", or is it legal to publish them?

Any info gratefully received. (Not the codes, just the info! :o ).

I would guess it's illegal and hence you'll see most of them posted on Romenian websites, or some other countries who are known to be uncooperative in forcing hosting companies to remove illegal stuff!

There is one local website hosting these codes, majorly the ones from a certain provider from the Philipines... I guess the Thai law won't bother to much as long as UBC's codes are not published :D (UBC's system is incidently still not cracked!)

Mind you, naked nipples are of course a big nono :o

Anyway, it's up to the TV provider to upgrade to an unhacked system. In the case of dream they could upgrade to NAgra2, which would involve sending new smart cards to their existing subscribers. (just like UBC did a couple of years ago)

They might be reluctant to do this because of the sheer size of the Philipines, with all it's islands...

UBC's system is incidently still not cracked!

And in what dreamworld do you live in? I personally know of........... No way! But I am quick to mention that I religiously pay my stipend every month.
