[Lost in LOS]

I sure could use some help. I have a private thai teacher for the last year and a half. I still have problems understanding thais when the speak fast, which is most of the time. My solution is, I brought a portable dvd player that I can play and rewind in front of my teacher untill I can understand it fully.

Can you tell me what are the best thai TV shows etc that I can get from you-tube or? they dont have to include video but I need it to be general conversations, spoken clearly and not too fast. Childrens show or cartoons would be okay. Please help if you can direct me to some shows.

I like the show หัวใจใกล้กัน. It is a pbs show that deals mostly with family matters. Each episode is only about 10-15 minutes long and they have Thai subtitles so you can read along as you watch. There are dozens of episodes on youtube.

This one comes with English subtitles "Ruk Ter Took Wun 1.1 w/ Subs"; 13 chapters each cut into 10 episodes, about 9 minutes each.

As you have a portable DVD player, why don't you buy thai movies with Thai subtitles (only 100-300 Baht). Lots of them available.

For learning to understand the language, the college-kids love-stories are very good, they speak clear and not too fast.

Cartoons use basic language, but the weird voices I find irritating.

Many comedies are terrible due to all the (ladyboy)screaming and shouting.

I am downloading some now, thanks guys. i brought a thai soap opera series from tuk-com yesterday that seem good. someone suggested Little Leader Geo, which are cartoons but good speaking
