Is it not possible to use California Fitness or any other gymnasium just once while you are in the area for a short time?

In my previously very short lived experiences with gym's, in the days when I had little self discipline or stamina, one had to pay a one to twelve month membership.

Can't I just pay per session?

Also, should I drink my protien powder before or after my session?

Yes to both....... not sure how much it is these days but casual visits are expensive...... and then drink some protein after you finish training and have a banana.......have a good quality protein/carb meal an hour or so after that:thumbsup:

The response to my OP speaks volumes about the general health and lifestyle of the avarage expat in Thailand, or TV member at least. :o

Seriously, I've only just started getting into it and I have found that even after a 'beer sleep' when you wake up feeling rough and drained, a quick 15 minutes in the gym, followed by a few lengths in the pool and a good sauna leaves you feeling refreshed and ready to take on a hard days work.

It also gives you a buzz you can't get from alcohol and it makes your body look good which can compensate for a big nose or thinning hair.

I use the gym/pool in my condominium and fully agree that even after a wild night out the positive benefits of a quick workout and swim is fantastic. Cheers!
