100 Police Officers conduct raids on Pattaya Bars and Clubs

PATTAYA: -- 100 uniformed and plain-clothed Pattaya Police Officers conducted raids on late night entertainment venues around Pattaya on Thursday Night. Police Colonel Nantawoot, the Pattaya Police Chief, led the operation targeting bars in 5 separate areas. A total of ten venues, including Beer Bars and Go-go bars were raided and random urine testing of employees took place. Wow...100 officers rousting customers and staff and they turn up a dozen people who are on ya-ba...you telling me they have nothing better to do with their time

Drugs are a major cause for prostitutes and unemployed people to tip over into criminality and violence.

The difference with alcohol is that drunk people become sober the day after.

I want Thailand and Pattaya to be peaceful and safe, so I am in favor of a repressive stance against drugs.

If only they could strike higher in the food chain instead of arresting 12 end users as a result of an operation involving 100 officers!

They only wanted to watch the show, have a bit of a sing and a beer. Afterall, they can't be caught in these places when off duty

After 5 yrs in Pattaya, the editors really only need to copy and paste the reports. Until today I do not understand the reason for these raids. Usually it is hitting the operatons which do not sufficiently support the law enforcement by donating Whisky and/or funds.

seems to be a lot of bar/club raids lately.

anyone know which ones have copped for it?
