hi,

is it still possible to leave the country from chiangmai airport, with a visa overstay of 2 days, by paying the overstay fine?

Yes, but you'll have to spend about 10 days in a detention center while your deportation papers are processed. You'll also have to pay for the courts, administration, and your 10 days at the local DC. Don't worry, you will get out albeit a bit of an ordeal :(

Just kidding ;):) Of course you can leave by the airport, it'll cost you 1000 Baht, then away you go :) Bon voyage!

As said, just pay 1,000 baht and be on your way.

Your passport will be stamped showing you had an overstay, but it is no problem getting another visa or entry into Thailand.

A mate just left last night with 10 months overstay. Paid his 20k and on his merry way. No problems at all.
