Robroy
I have a Thai woman friend married to a Westerner living in Japan. Because there is a risk of rising air radiation there, she wants to take self & newborn back to Thailand for a while. But the Thai Embassy in Tokyo is proving to be slow & bureaucratic - reams of papers to sign & translate; an expected three-month wait to get the passport. Does anyone now a way to make this happen quickly? Kindly make suggestions concrete, & preferably based on personal knowledge. (I.e. "Pay someone off" doesn't quite cut it.) Thanking you. Mario2008
Let her try to get an emergency passport for the child. If the embassy is too beaurocratic, have her contact the consular affairs department to speed things up: http://www.consular.go.th/ They are the department repatriating Thais in dangerous situations. Colabamumbai
I don't think that she should be waiting three months for a passport. If she has all the documents required it should not take more than four to six weeks as it would any where in the world.
