My New Visa

Featured Replies

Hello. There is one thing I have to ask.

Well, I arrived to Thailand on January the 18th with a 2 months tourist Visa, I extended the Visa for one month. So I have to leave before April the 18th.

I have to go back to Spain to do somehing and I will be back to Thailand about May the 15th.

Meanwhile I am in Spain I will go to the Thai embassy to get a new 2 months tourist Visa. The question is:

If I apply for a double entry tourist visa, can i do the next?:

I arrive, here, I stay for two months and I extend my visa for another one, 2 o 3 days before the extension finish I go out of the country and get back using mi double entry VISA, then I can be for another two months plus the extension

So, can I stay here for 6 months with a tourist double entry visa?

If this is afirmative, what can I do after these 6 months to stay here longer?

If I can only stay for 3 months with this new tourist visa, do I have to leave the country for a determinate period of time? or can I apply for a new one visa?

Thanks in advance,

Javi

If they will issue a 2 entry tourist visa you can stay almost six months as you outline. Further stay could be more tourist visas or ED visa for study or if have job/business B visa for that or if married to a Thai O visa for that.

There is no requirement to be out of country any period of time for visa/entry.

Thank you very much for your promptly reply lopbury3.

So, there's no limit to stay here inThailand? I mean, if after this 6 months I apply for another double entry tourist visa can I stay for another 6 months?

Thanks

your right,

get a double ( maybe they wil extend the free tourist visa which expires March 31st)

arrive, get two months, extend a month, head to an border for an hour or so and return with ur second entry which u then extend and u have ur 6 months.

Most double entry tourist visa's are valid for 6 months from date of issue so as long as u make ur second entry before the visa expires ur good to go. :D

Thank you very much Phuketrichard.

Vientianne is known to give a validity of only 3 months.

Another double entry tourist visa after you already had one is becomming increasingly difficult. But no way of telling what the situation will be in 6 months time. For now continous stay in thailand on tourist visas is very problematic.
