LOWER DIR, PAKISTAN (BNO NEWS) -- At least five people on Monday were killed in a suicide bombing in Lower Dir, northwest Pakistan, the state-run APP news agency reported.

Pakistani police informed that a suicide bomber detonated his explosives at a bus terminal in Jandol town, Lower Dir district. The terrorist reportedly arrived on foot. So far, no group ahs claimed responsibility for the attack.

In addition, several more people were injured and some are in critical condition in a local hospital. Police cordoned off the area in order to gather evidence, said by Qazi Jamil ur-Rehman, regional deputy inspector general of police.

President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned the suicide attack and regretted the loss of innocent lives. He added that the terrorist acts will not undermine his government's determination to fight terrorism.

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani also joined the call for continuing war against terrorism and urged authorities to bring the perpetrators of the Lower Dir blast to justice as soon as possible.
