How To Get From Kanchanaburi To Ban Kok Sanga

Featured Replies

Hi, folks, I'm planning to visit Thailand in February next year, on my own, on a tight budget, backpacker style.

I'm planning to visit the Tiger Temple at Kanchanaburi and stay there, perhaps 3 days to join the monks in meditation and interact with the tigers, then do solo treks in the nearby national parks. After that, I want to go to the King Cobra Village at Khon Kaen and stay there if I can, for a couple of days.

Right now, I'm doing my internet research for my travel itinerary but help from those who know these places personally would be very much appreciated.

Could you suggest safe, cheap places to stay in close by or within the Cobra Village? And how can I travel by bus or train from Kanchanaburi direct to Nam Phong? Or if I can't go to Nam Phong straight, at least to Khon Kaen? And from there how can I go to Nam Phong? Sorry, but my internet researches have not been helpful at this point...

Thanks so much in advance.

Be careful at the ole tiger temple. Apart from the rip-off entrance fee there have been a number of attacks on tourists in recent years. You could bus it to Ayuthaya from Kan and then take another bus to Khon Kaen and then onto Nam Phong, or go through Bangkok, but I very much doubt you can do it direct.

Hope it works out :o
