Retirement Visa, Extension,

Featured Replies

Hello,

I enjoy a retirement visa since many years.

This year I made a mistake. I forgot to send the 800.000 THB on time !

My visa end the 4th of May 2011 and I got the money only today 08th of April.

What should I do to solve the problem ?

Thanks.

FRANK

I thinck ,you will need to travel outside, get a 60 days visa, and ask for a new extension after money was staying 3 months in a thai bank, or find a special office who can make the visa for you at certain fees ! depend where you live !

and if I request a new visa abroad ( in Asia ) no problem or some Thai Embassies will be reluctant to issue a visa ?

If you have any pension income you could combine that with your bank deposit (embassy letter) and not need the 3 months in bank account. If not you should be able to obtain a single entry non immigrant O visa from Consulate if you explain why and 60+ days later start extending again.

you wrote : a single entry non immigrant O visa from Consulate

Is that means that i will have to stay in Thailand for 60 days until I get thenew retirement visa and a re entry permit ?

Double entry not possible ?

Thanks.

PHILIP

You can obtain a re-entry permit on any entry so you could leave after 30 days and return 30 days later if you wish - just buy a single re-entry permit. There is no availability of double entry non immigrant visas normally.

So I should get a single entry non "O" visa from a Thai consulate.

The total length is 60 days...Right ?

And if I buy a re entry permit..can I leave when I want ( per instance one week after ..) then come back at the end of the 60 days to apply for the 1 year extension ? Possible ?

Thanks.

Your entry on a Non-Immigrant "O" Visa would be for 90 days, the re-entry permit would keep that permission to stay valid when exiting Thailand.

And for the Thai consulate in Asia..Possible to get the VISA O easily or some consulates are more reluctant than other to give the visa ?

Single non-O based on retirement should not be a problem. Multiple non-O will be much more difficult.

What are the documents usually requested by the Thai consulates ?
