Taxi From U-taphao To Pattaya?

Recommended Posts

I have caught taxis from there

about 600 baht.

Pricey and longish drive.

Avoid if you can.

If you are coming from samui get your hotel in pattaya to have one meet you

Is there a regular taxi or bus service between U-Taphao and Pattaya?

Thanks for your answers!

If you go to the main road, plenty of buses heading Pattaya way, dropping off on the sukumvit rd,takes about 2 hours, but very cheap.

Bartender , 2 hours to travel 25kms. That a pretty slow trip mate.

The only buses that do the trip are the local ones which stop every few miles, maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but it does take a long time.

Maybe the OP can tell us after he's done it.

I live by the airport. As said sometimes 500, sometimes 600 baht by private taxi. Time for travel approx. 1 hour, 45 kilometres to Pattaya Klang. Baht buses on main road 20-30 baht, 1 hour 15 minutes to Pattaya Tai. Then you have to take new taxi or motorbike into Pattaya.

I've come from Samui several times an forgotten to book a seat on a minibus, but I've never failed to get a seat on arriving at the U-taphao. Forget the fair 200baht? Journey time 45 min?

Does anyone know if you can leave your car at u-taphao for 3 or 4 days SAFELY and legally? :o

There is a large (open) carpark there and being an military base there is a guard on in a box and a few barriers, but no tight security tyhat I have seen. However I think you would be quite safe leaving your car there for a few days. They certainly make note of who is longstay and who is merely picking up.

this is covered in another post I think...try a search
