tim armstrong
Does anyone know or have experience of visa companies doing the run from Chang Mai to Mae Sai. My son and his girlfriend need 2 week extensions on visa exempt stamps. I'd appreciate any details of cost and times. Regards.
CobraSnakeNecktie
just go to the bus station and buy tickets. Arcade bus station. If you want to spend a little more can take a minibus but it's hardly better. Can find the tips for making a visa run by searching this forum. It's pretty easy and super safe. You leave about 8 am and return about 7 or 8.. Depends on the return bus departure. Most expensive bus is like 720 baht round trip. Other busses are cheaper but make more stops. At the border you cross pay $10 or 500 baht to Myanmar and come back in thru Thai immigration. There might be companies that charge extra but they don't do anything to earn the premium. Jdietz
For quite a comfortable ride take the green bus, they have a very nice premium class seat for 300 something Baht one way. When you arrive in Mae Sai, there are red Songthaews waiting to bring you to the actual border, 15 Baht one way. You will be dropped right at the checkpoint, can't really miss it. Edit: you won't get an extension, just a new 15 day visa exempt stamp on entry. rawhod
I use "All Seasons Travel, they are just past McD's at Tha Pae. They speak good english and are very friendly and helpful. 590BHT the round trip. They pick you up at a location of your choice near home about 7:30 am, take you up to the border Mae Sai. They leave about 75 mins later. Home again about 5pm.
