Dizziness

That would be the epley maneuver. See my previous post on the first page of thisthread for a video of how to do it. It worked for me like a miracle cure after a couple of attempts. It depends on the severity of the bppv though.

I've just been diagnosed with BPPV it's not nice to have it affects me most when I lie down or turn over in my sleep . I've had all types of treatment for the fast two months physio accupressure laser and massage , thinking it came from my neck .

I ended up going to a ear specialist who put me on anti vertigo medication and then sent me to a another specialist for BPPV which he has given me maneuvers to do, where you lie down on your side and then swing to the other side and lie there for about a minute. this has helped but not yet gone completely , the doctor said to do this 3 times a day for two weeks .

But, on the other hand, a couple days ago I felt a certain rolling motion and looked to find the cat diving under my chair again. Couldn't find anything about an aftershock on-line, though.

Interesting, I felt that too a few times in the past weeks. I didn't worry about it but I was wondering. If the cat agreed with you it was likely real.

@cheshiregent - ears is a good tip, will make sure to clean properly.

About once every 2-3 months this happens to me. Has been going on for about 2 years. It is the same exact feeling I had during the big CM earthquake a month ago. I was on the 12th floor of a high rise and at first thought I was having one until I saw the lights shaking and realized it was an earthquake. It's almost like a mild hallucination. I have always shrugged it off as being a temporary glitch in my equilibrium/inner ear

I know it's crazy but I actually kind of enjoy them.

If it is the positional vertigo that ableguy describes, I cannot urge you more to try the Epley's maneuver. You can do it with the help of your partner on your own on your bed, and it could be an instant fix. It is possible to do the same thing on your own too. The maneuver moves the broken off bits of protein to the correct part of the ear canal. It isn't dangerous at all. You should be able to self diagnose which ear is causing the problem using the second video below.

I had a motorbike accident a couple of years ago, and after spending thousands at the hospital getting brainscans etc, I eventually diagnosed myself, and fixed it myself.

If this does fix it for you, please read about BPPV so you can understand how to ensure the fix is more permanent (If I remember correctly, I had to sleep sitting up for one night to ensure the protein readheres in the right place.

PS - Im no doctor, but it worked for me.

PPS - It doesn't hurt, so give it a go, and if it works, then your worries are over! :)

Yes and additionally this time of year also manifests many allergies which can cause dizziness that you don't normally have a sensitivity to due to the concentration of pollen flying around and the lack of regular rain to wash it out of the air. Couple that with the low pressure systems that roll through and you have a strong case for these symptoms.

Also drink plenty of water in all cases it helps to flush out your system and keep your sinuses clear and other connected passages such as the ears clear by thinning the mucus therein contained..

disclaimer: I'm not a doctor either but I play one on TV...... :D

For me it's not Vertigo though; it's not a spinning sensation, just severe light-headedness. I can walk straight without trouble, I'm not disoriented.

See my post above. Water is an amazing remedy we don't realize how much we are supposed to take in daily and most times fall well short, it took me some years to realize myself..

Ive been getting it aswell, quite alot actually.

The air does seem to be very unclear at the moment, to the point that the particles are glistening quite clearly.

By the way did anyone feel an earthquake last night....? Could be the diziness again but I'm sure I could feel something

I for one am happy to see you laughed out loud thrice while typing that post. While some may find it slightly schizophrenic to sit and laugh at one's own writings, it is supposed to be really good for your health. :)
