Visa Run From Chiang Mai To Burma

Featured Replies

We will be up in the Chiang Mai area when I am due to due a 90 day border run extension and was wondering if any other members have had any experiences doing one from there and what the fee is for entry in to Burma etc and any other things I ought to be aware of?

Thanks

After exiting Thailand, you pay $10 (USD) or 500 THB at the Myanmar border. They stamp you in and out. Then you re-enter Thailand and get the number of days you are entitled to dependant upon the visa you hold.

If you hold a non-imm multi entry, you will get 90 days. If it's a tourist multi entry you will get 30 days.

Be sure to enter your Vias number on the new TM6 (entry/departure card).

If you hold a non-imm multi entry, you will get 90 days. If it's a tourist multi entry you will get 30 days.

Correction...

It is 60 days for Tourist visa

The best border to use is at Mae Sai

Thanks Rawhod for your good advise, do you know of any hotels that allow small dogs as well! we have a two month old puppy that will be travelling with us and so will need a reasonable hotel near the border crossing.

Sorry, can't help you...I live in Chiang Mai.
