Very Unique Thai Party Near Nimman?

My wife tells me it was the result of a motorbike cutting up a car.

Savage.

Typical TV coverage here though, why show a distressing clip once when you can loop it three (or was it four?) times while the hosts discuss it.

Hope the police can trace the numbers from the video.

Definitely Chiang Mai - my mother in law was a witness. The police have the license plate numbers.

this will surely stop them!

Would groups just jump in and start killing another person becasue someone they know is? Thats what it looked like the animals in the video were doing

The report on the Thai news is that it was road rage: a car or truck cut off a motorcycle rider, who at the next traffic light had some words for the driver. The driver then got on the phone to friends who must have been in a nearby vehicle. When the biker got off his bike he was attacked.

Regular family outing? I heard the same. Three sons, 1 doctor, 1 soldier, 1 CMU student. Guess dad was the truck driver with the gun?

I'm not sure if this is the same incident or another but there was a news report of 4 men - I think a father and 3 sons (one of which was a Doctor in C.M.!) who collectively beat another Thai man. Something in the air???

Channel 3 ran the same story too

To the OP: It's a shame that your thread hasn't had as much attention as it deserves - next time keep the title a little less cryptic or find a way to insert one or more of the TV Magic Read Me Words: best, burger, food, Mexican, fish, chips or pizza. ;)

And, at the risk of being pedantic, surely our English should set a good example? Something is either unique, or it is not. No such thing as 'very' unique or 'almost' unique.

And sadly the world over, morons like these are not unique at all.

The speed and determination with which the man emerged with the bat spells

'premeditation' to me.

Much more to this than meets the eye, methinks. Or the shoulder blades.

Actually, Flatout, pretty typical for Thais, at least the men, to drive around with some sort of weapon in the vehicle. I found a youtube guy who's been posting updates on the incident, maybe the original YT poster, I forget. So far, one or two of the guys have turned themselves in at the ChangPuak station. The victim is breathing on his own n speaking a bit but has blood and swelling on his brain, they say. Road rage is a bummer. And there's far too much that would be tempting to dole out here for .... 'irresponsible/ reckless driving' if everybody were so inclined.

The guy calls himself TungstenPalm http://www.youtube.com/user/TungstenPalm#p/u/11/_K4a0kDA4ak

Not so sorry to sound like "Granny," I suggest that this conversation is a very, very sorry example of cheap-thill, sophomoric analysis of a (to begin with) stupid cheap crowd-pandering news feature as one could ever expect to find.

Would it be cheeky to ask you to provide a positive example of a less sophomoric and cheap thrill-seeking analysis, that we might endeavor to avoid offending your intellectual sensibilities henceforth?

I know it's late here now, but I also know I've always enjoyed and respected your posts, Mapguy. Really.

But I just don't understand your point(s) here. Please elucidate........really?

It's a good reminder to keep cool on the roads. Maybe one reason local drivers often appear oblivious to their own and others' sketchy driving is that they are studiously avoiding eye contact, fearing what might result. Farang tend to think differently: if I'm in the right, I've got just cause to shout or whatever. It's just cause vs just survive.
