Work Permit/Boi Visa Running Out.

Featured Replies

Hi All

I have a work permit and BOI visa currently valid until 30. April and since I have been a little bad at planing my further itinerary I need some extra time to finish things here in Thailand.

My Question now is can I simply go on a Mae Sai visa run (since I am located in Chiang mai) the same day my BOI visa expires and get the 14 days tourist visa so I have some extra time to tie up my unfinished business here?

I would assume so but it would be nice to have it confirmed or denied.

Thank you in advanced

Best regards Jake.

I take it is your permission to stay in Thailand that expires on the 30th? It is a 15 day visa exempt entry at border - not a tourist visa. You would also have the option to obtain 7 days extension of stay from Immigration.

If you leave and fly back in you would even get 30 days.

No work would be allowed of course without a work permit.

@Lopburi3: Yes it is permission to stay in Thailand that expires on the 30th, that being my BOI visa. I guess the easiest thing for me is just going to the Immigration and getting the 7 days extension and if I need more time than that i guess i can head to the border. But that I can inquire about at immigration tomorrow. :)

Thank you for your help.
