Non-O Visa Expire

Featured Replies

Good morning Thai visa

My non-o visa expires on the 7th May

My next day for reporting at immigration is the 6th May.

Can't recall if they will issue another 3 months or am I would it be better to cross a border to get another 3 months?

Thanks people,

GFL.

You are mixing up 2 things: reporting your adress every 90 days and extending your permission to stay. The 90 day report is to notify immigration of your address every 90 days if you stay that long in the country. It is not an extension of stay!

Are you on a valid mutiple enty non-O or do you have an extension of stay that expires? If in doubt, scan the relevant page of your passport with personal details blacked out.

Thanks Mario,

it is a 90 day reporting of address on the 6th, visa expires on the 7th..

If I were to leave the country and come back before the visa expires, I get another ninety days. Correct?

Only if you have a Multiple Entry Visa.

90 day reporting is just to show the Immigration officers that you are still in Thailand.

As long as the visa is still valid, every time you enter Thailand you can stay for another 90 days. So yes.

But with a multple non-O you would not need to do 90 day reports, as you would not stay longer than 90 days in a row till you apply for the 1 year extension.

But I would need a permit stamp (exit permit) I think. I haven't left the country in a year.

Maybe I should try for one year extension. I have legal custody of my children.

I see there is another thread that I can look at on that subject.

Thanks,

If you have a valid VISA and not an extension of stay from immigration in Thailand, you should have left Thailand every 90 days. if you did not, you are on overstay and can expect to be fined 20,000 baht.

you better figure out if u have a 1 year multiply entry visa where u HAD to leave every 90 days and never had to report or if u have a 1 year EXTENSION, where you are ok with not leaving but need report in every 90 days.

So what do you have>?

If its a multi u dont need a rentry permit. if its an extension u need a re entry BUT if its a 1 year extension and it expires on the 7th you will NOT get 90 days when u come back as ur extension has expired. (not positive about this so better check). I know when u come into thailand the expiration of ur time to stay is the day the extension expires. If this is the case u need to apply for another 1 year extension before may 7th.

If u apply for the 1 year extension cause of ur thai child u need show 500,000 in the bank

Seems u have been a member for awhille so u should know what visa/extension u have

Make that 400,000 baht.

500,000 baht is for people applying based on having a non-Thai child studying in Thailand.

Thanks,

It's an extension with ninety-day reporting. Expires on the 7th.

In that case you CANNOT get another 90 days by leaving the country and should start the extension process (like you did last year) immediately.

Thanks,

I will. There is also the option of applying for a non-o in say, Malaysia or Laos.

Best,

You do not say on what basis you have the one year extension of stay but it appears to be because of having a Thai child? You will not likely to be able to obtain more than a single entry non immigrant O visa in Malaysia unless married to a Thai.
