Featured Replies

I am planning to buy a new car on down payment from Nissan.

I have a B Visa so can I own it or do I need work permit too?

I also have a 1 year International driving licence. is it Ok to keep driving it on these or do I HAVE to get a Thai license.

Thanks,

Sorry about the spelling in the title, I can't get into it to edit it. :o

You can own a car in your name without a work permit.

Driving on IDL is ok but you may have a problem with your insurer if you need to make a claim. Much safer to get a Thai license and not that difficult.

Thanks chaps.

I reckon I'll go get a Thai DL in Phuket Town.

I'll do some research on the forum too and read what others have asked previously.

Cheers.
