roog
Visiting UK for 4 weeks with a short trip to France also. It appears as if I'll have to apply for both a UK visa and a Schengen visa (with France as the primary destination) for my Thai wife. Can anyone confirm that either one on it's own is insufficient to visit both countries? Thanks.

seaeagle
And you need to get BOTH here. Can't get the French / Schengen one for her in UK.
VisasPlus
And you need to get BOTH here. Can't get the French / Schengen one for her in UK. That is correct. If your wife was resident in the UK then she could apply for a Schengen visa while there. But, if she is in the UK as a visitor/tourist she cannot apply. She would be told to apply back in Thailand.
