Can I Do Four Visa Runs? (Visa On Arrival)

Featured Replies

Hello, i'm from sweden and first came to thailand on the 1st of february. I got a visa on arrival for 30days and then extended it for 7days at immigration. After that i went to cambodja for one week and then back to thailand again on a new 30day visa on arrival. After those 30days were up i went on another visa run to cambodja, staying there for 3 days, and getting my third 30days visa on arrival in thailand.

I've read at some places that i need to stay out of thailand for 90days now after my third visa run. But i've also heard a rumour that this is an old rule not being applied anymore..

So my question is, can i do a fourth visa run for a new visa on arrival?

First of all, you did not get visa on arrival, you got a visa exempt stamp.

30 days by air, 15 days by land.

No limit, but they might question you if you work illegally in Thailand.

The 90 day rule was scrapped 2008.

Why don't you get a tourist visa next time you are in Cambodia (Phnom Penh).

A double entry tourist visa will give you 180 days if utilized right.

Thank you for the answer!

When i first came here I hadnt planned to stay for longer than a month, but i ended up quite loving this country and kept going back here over and over. This will be my last month in thailand before i have to go back home and get back to "real" life.

My next trip to Thailand will be more carefully planned with a proper touristvisa so I wont need all this hassle with visa runs every single month.
