Border Conflict - Special Posting Guidelines

Guidelines for posting about the fighting, or posting from within the affected areas.

Due to the flare ups of fighting along the Thai - Cambodian border, we need to ask that you use your utmost discretion when posting in regards to the conflict. A few do's and don'ts:

Do post info on where to go if you feel you are in danger, such as refugee centres, and designated evacuation routes.

Do help fellow members deal with the situation, and offer help and good advice when needed.

Do post general information that is not too specific on locations of strikes, or exact times of military actions. For example, "Artillery fire heard in the Surin area 15min ago" is vague enough, but "Shells landing 1km north of _______ village" can inadvertently help the other side with their targeting.

Don't report any movements, or gathering of military personnel, or equipment. This puts the units, and civilians around them in danger. It can also bring unwanted attention to the forum and yourself.

As it stands at the moment, we are probably the best source of information for people in the affected areas, and their families back home. Please help us make sure that this line of communications stays open and unhindered by self moderating, and thinking twice before posting.

Though it's out of our jurisdiction, following the same guidelines is recommended when offline as well, especially about the part posted in red.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask a news mod, or email support.

Thank you
