FARIDABAD, INDIA (BNO NEWS) -- An emergency medical plane carrying at least eight people crashed into residential structures near New Delhi on late Wednesday evening, local media reported.

The accident happened at around 10.45 p.m. local time when the Pilatus PC-12 aircraft crashed into two homes in Jawahar colony of Faridabad, a district in northern India near New Delhi. Among those on board was a cancer patient, two doctors, two crew members, and several attendants.

Indian television stations reported that the aircraft was on a flight from Patna in eastern India to New Delhi when it crashed in Jawahar colony during heavy winds and poor visibility due to a dust storm. Footage from the scene showed several structures on fire.

According to CNN-IBN, emergency workers have recovered at least eight bodies. It was not immediately clear if there were casualties on the ground, but rescue operations were still ongoing.

Other details were not immediately available.
