Help please folks - single cream - where can i buy - NOT the whipping "squirty" cream that is everywhere - a definite for sure location / shop, to buy from would be a great help

I spend a lot of time looking for various dairy products and I haven't spotted single cream either. I believe that single cream has a butterfat content of no more than18%. What the minimum is I'm not sure. I think 12% but I wouldn't swear to that. Anyway, foremost whipping cream has a butterfat content of 35.5%. So you could make a 50-50 mixture with skim milk to approximate single cream. You'd have to stir it well before each use since the stuff wouldn't be homogenized.

The only company I see that sells cream in quantities smaller than 1 quart is dacheeso. I think the smallest size is 200 mls. Not sure of what the butterfat content is, though.

Why don´t you buy double cream and milk and blend it to your liking!
