1 Year Stay Possible?

Featured Replies

My girlfriend and I are looking for somewhere to live for one year that is cheaper and more interesting then our current living situation. We are both Americans in our early 20's. I won't need a work visa since I work from home over the net.

All I can find information on is the 90 day tourist visa. Could I count on making border runs working out long enough to stay for a year or is there another type of visa I should be looking into? Are there schools that are easy for foreigners to get into that offer visas?

Thanks.

The legal situation is that you do need a work permit if you work - even from home.

There are legal ways to stay for a year without a work permit, but they won't allow you to engage in work.

Where can I find information on them? I am trying to take a year to self study instead on continuing school, so if I have to cut work out for a year I shouldn't be too bad.
