Rental Income

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I am in my 40's right now and am planning to move to Thailand when I become 50 with a retirement visa program.

My question is: if I buy a condo now and rent it out until I move there permanently, is this legal as a non resident? I may stay there a few months per year until then.

Also, if I transfer money to Thail Bank and earn interests, where should I report this income?

If you need to know more about this, I am moving to Thailand soon (within a month or 2).

I live in Dallas, TX USA and my friend from here is the Sales Manager for Executive Residence Corp in Pattaya (he has lived there 5 yrs now). I can give him your info or give you his Vontage phone or local Thai number. His name is Jerry Jeritza and is a very knowledgeable and nice guy. I am sure he can answer all you questions, there should be no problem buying now, plus he can help you rent it (in fact I may be interested in renting it or helping you rent it, if you are looking to buy in Pattaya), thanks, Paul
