Razzell I didnt have a bank account and all I had was a letter of employment do believe it or not your call mate. I've been through the whole visa process and never been refuse from a six month marriage visa to flr to indefinite leave to remain. Can I also add that if you cover all laws then the Eco cannot refuse. He doesn't have a reason

How long ago was this?

By "all the laws" I assume you mean the requirements for a visa?

Having adequate funds and accommodation are said requirements. How you did that with no money/savings I don't know?

I didn't say he was a liar. I said I find it hard to believe that someone applying now would get a settlement visa with no accommodation or funds/savings! (Simple answer, you wouldn't!)

I'm trying to be helpful. You're trying to be a wind-up troll :bah:

Good luck with your application!

He meets the requirement ie letter of employment which will give him finances without recource to public funds and by the way I didn't have accommodation too letter from friend stating that I could stay with them so it's all possible.

Razzle - I must nip down to specsavers as I never saw the word 'now' ??

As for me being a 'troll' I'm actually embarrassed for you that you have resorted to going down that path.

As for a job offer being 'legally binding' that is absolutely laughable. Can you imagine the police coming to the door 'Mr hotandhumid?' 'Erh, yes' 'We are arresting you on taking up the job offer from your brother in law'

Bell - I did actually drop you a line earlier, did you not get it?

And appreciated. We aren't actually applying for the settlement visa until next year, but could still be useful.

Well, as we were talking about your current/future application I thought perhaps it wasn't necessary? Obviously you need it spelled out. THERE IS NO WAY YOU WILL GET A SETTLEMENT VISA WITH 1- NO FUNDS or 2 - NO ACCOMMODATION!

You obviously don't know, understand or choose to ignore the the current visa regulations so I suggest you read this:

http://www.vfs-uk-th.com/applying.aspx

And the supporting documents required here:

http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/resources/en/docs/1903073/supportingdocssettlement

But write your application on the back of a fag packet for all I care, I'm sure that will be acceptable

As long as the job offer is by a legitimate business it is very unlikely that the ECO will question it. Only if they are given reason to doubt the validity will it be an issue.

The ECO works on the balance of probability not proof. This will be based on the quality of evidence placed in front of him when the application is processed.

If they doubt something please remember they are likely to refuse the application and it is then up to you to appeal. This process can be long-winded!

The discussion has warmed up a bit!!

To clarify.

Applicants need to show that they will be financially supported and accommodated without recourse to public funds.

Finances can come from the applicant's income and/or savings, the sponsor's income and/or savings, those of a third party or any combination of these. Job offers, or even evidence of a job search, can also be used.

Accommodation can also be provided by applicant, sponsor or a third party.

All evidence presented in an application must be genuine. Using deception to obtain a visa will, if discovered, result in the application being refused and the applicant may even be banned from applying again for life. Even if the visa is granted, if the deception is later discovered this can, I believe, result in the visa being canceled and the person deported from the UK.

The ECO and UKBA can check the veracity of all evidence submitted.

The above is for information and is not a response to any particular poster.
