Suthep: admitted 26 deaths (5 soldiers,20Thais,1Japanese reporter) occurred during red-shirt's gathering in 2010 at Ratchadamnoen Rd. /TAN_Network

So the other 65 aren't dead then?

Read again.... it states "at Ratchadamnoen Rd", the other main rally stage.

Suthep flatly denies Abhisit ordered killings. He himself was in position of responsibility & he will never run abroad to avoid charges. /via@terryfrd

Suthep: I don't care if u reject Abhisit for other reasons. But I'll cry everyday if u reject him for the "murderer" propaganda. /via@thulsathit

Suthep: I've resigned to the possibility of going to jail if PT becomes govt and Jatuporn becomes interior minister. / via@tulsathit

Is that statement designed to get people to vote PT so that Suthep goes to jail, or to vote Democrat with the chance of Jatuporn becoming Interior Minister?

Democrat not eyeing votes[/b] from Ratchaprasong campaign

Obviously they think the election is in the bag, so they can take a break from campaigning.

Nothing is NEVER "in the bag" until official results are known...

So wouldn't their time be better spent trying to garner votes?

Telling the truth isn't a bad start. They are doing so now.

Spring News (red) had Nutthawut giving commentary/response .... THEN .... (get this!) The Nation Channel had Nuthhawut giving comments on air live.

Suthep goes on to remind people of Silom M79 attacks 1 dead, 80 injured, then details additional attacks.

Suthep says Seh Daeng died in suspicious circumstances. Said Jatuporn had more reason to kill because TS was supporting radicals

/via@terryfrd

This is the kind of statement (the second one) that I am just unclear if it violates election law. (If it does the reds go down too ... errr I mean PTP ... oh wait same thing)

Chuan talks about vast progress made during his 43 years in parliament, but says says cycle of vote-buying, power & corruption worsened

Chuan says double standards clearly originated during Thaksin administration w. conflicting court decisions on asset concealment

/via@terryfrd

Chuan brings up Thaksin's vows to help pro-TRT provinces first. This is real double-standard, Chuan says. /via@tulsathit

This is the basis for my intense dislike of Thaksin,

and the actions that turned me from being his fan to the opposite.

It is a double standard that cost lives, and nearly cost me mine.

No forgiveness for Thaksin on this score.

Nice to see calm straight talk from K. Chuan.

Chuan: Two former prime ministers made direct calls to intimidate judges in Dem dissolution case. /via@tulsathit

Not surprising... vindictiveness runs deep there.

We know only that Samak didn't call .......

Chuan is probably the most widely respected person that will be speaking tonight.

Oh yeah. I saw him on a local market at the hometown of my wife. Much metta, highest comprehension for the essential needs of commun people.

It sure is easy to forget the climate of intimidation that existed in the TRT period and again during the PPP government for the media.

By comparison life is a whole lot better now.

Same applies to economy, and almost everything else - funny that guys like Sanoh, Chalerm, Banharn have difficulties remembering what it was like and what they went on record saying back then.

At the end of the day, people hear what they want to hear; after all I am sure a prominent PT MP could have his son commit murder, help him escape completely illegally, and just a few short years later, still be the apple of his voters' eyes.

I'd almost forgotten how TRT used to make fun of Chuan for being poor and not managing to get rich in 2 stints of government. Oh the shame of not fleecing the taxpayers!!

Abhisit's preparing to go on stage. Pro-Dems crowd going wild. /via@tulsathit

I very much doubt he will make any oratory gaffes. If I were his campaign manager (if such even exists here) I would now like to see him follow up the other speakers with a conciliatory tone. Speak directly to committed PTP supporters and reach out to them. One of the PTP spinners will rip it to pieces but at least he'd have got it into the public discourse.

I think I would normally agree with you ---- but I think now he needs to appear "tough on crime" .. He's never taken his gloves off and they need to come off tonight!

Does anybody know yet what he said? It's 8:30 and the rally will be over in 90 minutes. Abhisit promised to "expose the real killers" tonight. I see a lot of smoke, but no fire yet.

How wickedly ironic is your last statement "A lot of smoke but no fire yet".

That's because the fires are usually ignited by Redshirts ; in fact if memory serves they caused quite a burner over a year ago right where Abhisit is speaking tonight.

And with Thaksin it's all smoke and mirrors. OK?

You don't have to look far for the evidence. One of the leading figures of PTP managed exactly to do what you are saying. In fact,if I'm not mistaken, the murderous son was a minister himself not so long a go.

Surely not....

next you will be telling me that the son of a prominent TRT MP would have a son who cheated in unversity and 2 daughters who were favoured to get into well respected local universities despite very average grades... and the prominent elected official forced the media to not talk about it anymore, simply by intimidation.

or that as a reward for granting one business man a nice monopoly on GSM 2 watt and satellite services, the business man turned politician then rewarded that guy with both deputy PM and later on party chairman status, despite the fact that the guy granting the favour is actually likely senile.

or that a close personal friend of a prominent TRT politician would be appointed governor of the tourism authority; abuse her position and her associates would be found guilty in USA of bribery for a film festival, yet she is still a strongly highly regarded member of the TRT/PT high society....

All sounds a bit club 20 to me.....
