Gold In 72 Hours

Recommended Posts

Is there anyone currently keeping an eye on gold ? I subscribe to a newsletter and it says there is going to be a major buy of 1 million ounces within the next 72 hours. Today is June 29.

They make some outrageous claims, so it would be interesting to see if this one is actually true.

if anyone is keeping track of the prices, let us know if this prediction is accurate please.

To the gold novices 1000000 ounces for KRS1 should be 1 million words which if you look at realistically the legend rapper couldn't have spoken in 5 years of his life and trust me he can talk very quickly. Nevertheless i take this claim seriously so i throw a calculation at his claim.

In gold we talk about troy ounces pure gold(99.6%-99.9%). For 1 troy ounce weighs 31.1034768 grams and sells for roughly 1100 euros or 9400 Yuan thesedays(of course nobody smart calculates the dollar anymore). So the question is, is 1 billion Euro or 10 billion Yuan investing in gold would be good or bad to KRS1 who reads the newsletter he consciously subscribed to. If you calculate the weight with this i think Wilma is going to be disappointed.

I look at gold ETF's about 1-2 times a week, and just looked at them again now...so far nothing unusual.

The symbols are GLD and PHYS.

I also look at silver ETF's and prefer to trade them (mostly SLV) over gold. Currently holding some SLV and looking to buy some more shortly.

The silver ETF's I watch are SLV, PSLV, SSRI, and GPL.

You can keep an eye on them here http://www.freestockcharts.com/ and here http://finviz.com/quote.ashx?t=gpl&ty=c&ta=1&p=d

Wilma was my girlfriend (a long time ago). i was cheating on her, she didn't like it. that's why she stabbed me with a screwdriver... which i didn't like

you can track the gold price at the following link - historical and live in several currencies gold link

lot more good info too.

IMO with current price movements and the current market conditions and crisis, the 'claim' you mentioned would not be outrageous. take for example when Wall st tanked after lehmans collapse gold price increased substantially.

I think the 72 hours are up.

The outrageous claim is definitely NOT accurate.

Looks like gold is down over the past few days. Maybe someone sold 1 mil ounces. GLD was a net seller: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-07-01/spdr-gold-trust-holdings-decrease-2-42-metric-tons-table-.html?cmpid=yhoo

I hope you're not paying a lot for your newsletter.
