RDN
The words "Khao Lak" don't appear anywhere, only Khao LUk Nat Park. Map & CD were bought last week @ Asia Books for 299bt 1: 50000 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Strange, maybe yours is a different version:

It's the 2005-2006 version. All "layers" are ticked "on". It is set at 1:50,000 scale. Thanks for alerting me that I may have a dud.

ccheaton
Hi. My girlfriend and I spent the summer working with the Tsunami Volunteer Center in Khao Lak. She spent most of her time with the housing construction project in Tap Tawaan and I spent my time at the Cape Pakarang Boat Shed. We have a lot of pictures of the area. Here are some of the happy ones: Launching a boat at the Cape Pakarang Boat Shed A newly built house at Tap Tawaan Village The newly rebuilt Orchid Beach Resort and not so happy: The main building at the Theptaro Lagoon Resort I have many more pictures, but most of them are not online. You can look here to see some of the others that I do have online: http://www.standardgamble.com/coppermine/t...ls.php?album=11 (some are from travels in other parts of Thailand) It's all from the gallery of my blog: http://www.standardgamble.com We raised money for our trip through another website: http://www.twohelp.org Thanks for the wonderful map here! Khao Lak is an amazing place, but unfortunately, much of it is in shambles. It will take many years for the people of the area to clean everything up and begin to bring a sense of normalcy back to the place.
