cloudtiger
Is it possible? What would be the best route? Do I need to get a visa for China before hand or at the Thai-China border?
lopburi3
Please tell me you are not an American? When you find the Thai/China border (hint: there is none) perhaps you can also open a rail line (the only current rail crossing is to Malaysia). the scouser
Whatever his nationality, Lop, you've certainly scared him off! Scouse.
lopburi3
I went back through his posts and he claims to be an airline pilot. Sure hope he had good maps.

Sure hope he had good maps. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Now, this does explain a lot. "Above the clouds, the sky muust be borderless." Going to Mongolia, I would fly yo Beijing and take the train from there. Of course, one needs visa for China (if applicable depending on nationality) and Mongolia. In July, our son went from Moscow to Beijing that way, he was quite impressed. Biggest problem, LOL, to get the visa for Russia, as no sponsor-letter.
