Reef
Does anyone know the name of the charity that visits foreign prisoners in Chiang Mai prison?? A woman from this organisation contacted me a couple of months ago when a family friend was arrested. At the time, I was living in Thailand. I did not save her number or name. Our friend is back in prison ('bail complications') and I am in Europe for the summer so I cannot visit him and have no way of getting in touch. If anyone has any contact details for someone working in this organisation, I would be really grateful. It might be a very informal organisation...I can't really remember. I just know that they visit foreigners and we really need to get in touch with our friend! Any info MUCH appreciated.
Flatouthruthefog
Hi The only organisation doing this that I know of is the Christian (protestant) Community Church on the river, near Nawarat Bridge. They have a wonderful western lady who speaks fluent Thai and does nothing but visit foreigners in the prisons and hospitals. She is totally caring, discreet and sincere. PM me with your own e-mail address and I'll give you contact details. And good luck!
Bubbalicious
CMCC is the church that has some of its members do prison outreach. You can find the contact email on their website.
