It seems that most of my gadgets now have the 'mini usb' adapter for charging the internal batteries that I have in most of my gadgets. My new Samsung smart phone, Kodak camera and kodak video recorders and all use the celphone type batteries and can be plugged into my USB port on my laptop/and pc. They also can upload/download data>>>

but are they all the same voltage and no harm can be done to battery. And is the same true for those universal car celphone chargers??

I just checked the batteries in all my gadgets and all seem to be 3.6 or 3.7 volts......and the usb output is 5v??

Thanks in advance

If your gadget uses the USB cable for charging then it will work with any generic USB charger. Not all of them produce the same amount of oomph though and using the cheap chargers may take longer to charge your device than using the USB socket on your laptop or the official charger will.

We have the EU to thank for the standardisation of the mini-USB for charging:
