Advertising Ubc

Featured Replies

Just noticed lately there is a lot of adds on the ubc channels (pay TV) I was sitting watching the cartoon network with my son the other day and there are adds for swwets and toys , changed channels to documentary channels and they had adds for toothpaste, cars , luxury items and hotels etc.

Only premium channels don't have adds, basic cable channels do.

Same in US, cartoon network has lots of ads as does tnt, comedy network etc.

The law regarding advertising changed here a couple of years ago and now True and others are permitted to run ads on their channels. Slowly over the last year or so ads started to appear as the various networks started selling ad time. Colgate drives me nuts with their products and the same crappy ad all the time.

edit to correct spelling
