Visa For India

Featured Replies

I will travel to Delhi for 14 days in October.

I tried in vain to download the necessary documents from the indian consulate.

Neither can I find what the fee is for a visa, nor if I can sent my passport by EMS, and insert a check for the fees.

Any help please ?

Thanks

You don't download anything unless you've already filled in the on-line application at which point you'll have a bunch of .pdf files to print. It seems that you can no longer use hand filled forms so on-line is the only way :(

Start here https://www.visaservices.org.in/IHC-Thailand-Online/Create_Application_1.aspx

Tourist visa (assuming you're going as a tourist) fees are here http://www.ivac-th.com/touristvisa_fees.html varies dependent upon your nationality.

How to apply by courier is here http://www.ivac-th.com/courierapplication.html you still have to fill in the on-line application and include a bankers draft for the fees.

Deleted as Crossy beat me to it with more complete advice.

Should have left it Harrry, always nice to have confirmation :)

By the way, although it won't apply to our OP the visa centre in the Glashaus is paranoid about security, NO BAGS WHATEVER are permitted inside also leave your MP3 etc at home and they have no place to stow such items either http://www.ivac-th.com/securityregulations.html .

Hi, I am in the same spot as OP. I need to get a Visa to go to India. I already have my flight tickets for the end of this month but this has me a bit worried.

* Foreign nationals who do not hold resident visas in Thailand are dealt with on a case to case basis and some individual cases may require around 6-8 weeks time for processing.

I do not live in BKK, what is the fastest way I can get this visa? When I did this a few years ago I used a travel agency and assumed that I could do the same again. It only took 2 days then. Last time I did this I just handed someone my passport and some money and things worked out. Should I look for something like this or have things just radically changed? Thanks

Why have you booked a ticket before getting a visa? I hope you have not paid for it in full yet>>>>>>>>

Everyone knows not to purchase a ticket before the visa has been granted.

Thank you for the helpful post all my questions have been answered!

But really all joking aside can anyone give me any helpful advice on how to get this done quickly? Thank you.

Start here http://www.ivac-th.com/ check out 'courier application'. It usually takes 5 working days turn round at the embassy plus courier timings so you should be fine if you apply now.

Tourist Visa - no problem, Business Visa - needs a Thai work permit, Employment Visa - have to return to home country.

Thanks for the tips. I will be going as a tourist for just a week. I was able to get a hold of a tourist company I have used before and they said that it would be 5,300 baht (I am an American) and they could do it for me in 6 days. All this internet stuff and driving to a city to do a courier service had me a bit worried. Thank you for all the help. Best regards.
