Irish Posted October 28, 2005 Share Posted October 28, 2005 If you take a “Songtaew” in Pattaya or other parts of Thailand, Thais pay 5 Baht and whites/foreigners pay 20 Baht at least. Give him a 100 Baht note and he will most likely hit the accelerator and your change will be a plume of smoke. Have you been to Wat Phra Kaeo lately? (Or another tourist attraction). What is the entrance fee, 20 Baht for Thais and 200 Baht for whites/foreigners? Apart from the money don’t you just love the way you are corralled off? I wonder what would happen if this practice were repeated on let us say the London Eye. Whites pay 1 pound and if your skin is dark then you pay 10 pounds. If I am correct the word Apartheid is an Afrikaans word meaning segregation and it would seem Apartheid is alive and well in “The Land of Smiles.” Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
