carbon fibre...why?

Boy racer look

I agree. I find it amusing in Thailand how so many cars have all these body kits, paint jobs, carbon fibre and spoilers but they still lack the power to rival even a basic V6 family car from Australia or Europe. Personally I would put my money into going faster not looking like I was auditioning for "Initial D: The Live Action Movie":P

It’s called personal choice, if someone wants to add a body kit or whatever then it is up to them, you might like more power, where as the next person just wants the car to look good(in his opinion) what a boring world we would live in if everyone did the same thing!!

Making a broad generalisation - Thais like to show off - they own a new BMW but live in a cheap condo half the price. More people get to see the BMW so its better face value.

It's the same with motors - sleepers are rare as hen's teeth. Anything with 400HP will look like it's got 400 HP, and so will a ricers stock civic or mazda 2.

Having said that I don't mind a few practical mods - CF reduces weight a bit; so do forged lightweight rims - an wraps should give some protection to the paint work. It seems body mods are also easy and cheap to do here, so maybe that's why it's more common - letting a mechanic mess with a new engine under warranty is a bit of a minefield.

All is forgiven I am well and truly impressed, to be honest when I am living in Thailand on a more regular basis a Supra or RX-7 are definetly the cars I want to fang around in.

Lemme guess Volk TE37's? If so I love those rims.

Is that 800hp at the crank or at the wheels? Either way i'm guessing you went the T51R or T88 big single to get those sorts of numbers?

If you dont mind me asking how much did the work and parts set you back in Thailand? You can PM me if you want to keep the details private.

Also how does it drive with heaps of power? I've heard the big hp Supra's can have bad turbo lag but are rockets once the boost comes on

the wheels in the ad was for that magazine only the car was not mine at that time, i have: Volk Racing GT-7 , and will change them to: Volk Racing GT-7 Gold like the picture below..

130_0904_13_z+1997_toyota_supra+volk_gt7.jpg

power: 800 to 900 at the wheels, but its unconfirmed, but at least 800, the shop making it perfect, did make it back in the day, and then it had 800, and we have made some upgrades :)

800 is fine for me, 900 is better :) hahaha

price: a beast like this will be finished about: 2.2 mill bath..

you can find them stock, non modified for 1.5 to 1.8....

Ive looked for mine for over a year.. and wanted a supra for 10 years.. first now when i moved to Thailand i have the time, money for it :)

You know it takes time to care for your high powered car, its not as easy as having a Toyota stock from the dealer.. things will break!!

LAG: hell yes, and that's how a big turbo should be..

lag lag lag, and then nuclear explosion, and wheel spin 1,2,3 and maybe 4 gear :o)

It drives nice, but you need to be skilled a bit! in a former drifter! M3 back home in my contry, and i race pro gokart here in Phuket..

It has LCD limited slip diff TRD 1.5 way... that means it will not like other cars kick out the back, it will pull stright better, so you can just give it power, and it will burn rubber, and make 2 nice lines, and stay pretty stright :)

LOVE it :)

Ill change my hood to carbon and front bumper middle like this..

(my hood is not the same, mine is custom made light wait fiberglass)

DSCF1737.jpg

i think it looks cool :)

ohh forgot: Turbo: GARRETT GT45

Everyone fell for the looks of my Supra Twin Turbo, no lag, but for me it felt slow after a Sierra Cosworth. Nice all rounder, but not a Memorable One. So Changed it for the early V8 Lexus Barge in the U.K..Awfull looker but a cool engine that should have been in the Supra..On reflection i think a Cosworth Honda City would be wild here. I go for Q Cars personally, so the Cops know F.A. This post is sure to irritate the Crumblies in Sensible Shoes.
