Travel From Bangkok To Kalasin Isaan Via Bus

Featured Replies

i plan to go to kalasin in late oct. still thinking if i should take the bus from bangkok (to save cost obviously)? i can't converse in thai very well (simple words maybe), will that be a problem for me to travel alone? need some information on how long the bus ride will take, where i can take the bus, any precaution as a single lady traveling upcountry...etc.thanks much!

Not sure about the length, I'd say fairly long but I've taken the bus many times and never had a problem. Just make sure you get a super VIP bus that has three seats across and get the single seat along the window. The bus may stop during the night and everyone gets off to have some free dinner included with the ticket (if you get the VIP bus). Make sure you buy your ticket at the govt bus station at Mo Chit and not some dodgy ticket seller on Khao San Road.
