Western women usually steal as much as possible. Hookers are cheaper.

Good question, most won't admit it. Should really include the value of motorbike, car, house etc

How much do you pay ?

Since this question only comes up about five times per year, I'm really looking forward to seeing all the latest data and recent updates...oh, and the arguments about what is considered pay and what is not. Oh, Oh...and those clever members sounding like broken records repeating ad nauseum that everyone pays in one way or another.

I give mine 6k, plus all food, son's school, diesel. House, m bike and car are paid for.

She's happy enough with the arrangement.

I've never "paid" my wife. My wife works. She had a job when I met her, working in a photocopying booth next to where I was teaching.

She still works and always has done, other than about two years when our daughter was born.

Years back a lot of women who had kids didn’t work unless they had no other option , ex poverty. It was very common for a working husband to give a weekly a pound of money to cover food and kids expenses , and also for clothes etc. My mum loved her fashion so often asked for some money to buy the latest dress / shoes etc. This is / was quite a normal and fair practice. My mother never had to work outside the home, but often working couples would put their money in the kitty for expenses, rent or holidays. Fair enough.. If a Thai lady is staying home and cooking etc and / or has kids, then it’s normal for her to have some money to keep the house and herself going.

It varies month to month

I remember one month around 100k baht, it was her birthday.

When we go to the village, visit family, I deposit 50k baht into her account, this is so her family doesn't ask me, she controls the holiday.

As I'm drinking my beers, glass is never empty and food from the BBQ is constantly fed to me by my girl and the occasional kiss ♥️

I'm in heaven 🙏

The question most here likely have is why would anyone want to know? Unless of course you are taking down notes to submit a manuscript to one of the prestigious universities GG has.

It's still a huge traditional practice where the one who's best with finances is given the "power" over the money to pay the bills, put some aside for emergencies and buy the groceries. It's not considered a salary but a pot where all the family money goes to be dealt out accordingly.

Here , being a poor country, some might consider it a salary, but many of the women here are already working, so it can still be a pooled resource.

If it's a woman that isn't working and the man likes to have things done, bringing in all the money, it's like having a housewife, that does much of the house and kid things, while the man supports with his money.

If it's a woman that does nothing but give the man sex and maybe make occasional Pad Krapow, it can be called a salary.

Payment for sex and chores. All women charges. White ones prefer a house.

Western women work, pooling resources, or are housewives, doing the house thing while the man works. The only women who charge are hookers.

I really doubt most expats "pay" their wives or girlfriends a salary. If you want to pay, there's a dedicated entertainment industry.

Yes, I bought our house 37 years ago. We have no vehicles. Although my wife was working, I paid for everything while I was working. Since I've retired, my wife has been the principal breadwinner and is making a Western wage every month. Now she's taking the weight, working sometimes 12 hours a day, seven days a week.

This shift occurred gradually but she told me I would never be without good red wine!

Good woman there. Guess you live in the city or walk a lot, or both.

Some of us give our wives money for clothing, food, cosmetics, the ability to eat out with their friends, gas, etc etc etc. What difference is that than giving them an allowance to cover all those expenses each month?

In America a lot of women that I know control the purse strings even if they're not the primary breadwinner. How is that fair or reasonable? I know men in America that are forbidden to carry cash, even though the wife does not work. She perceives his ability to carry cash as a loss of control. I call it total emasculation.

How does anybody even consider that a life well lived?

Never had any women in my life steal from me. If you plan right, and buy the house before you're married, if she turns out to be a loon, she gets what she came with or half of what was bought during the marriage. Hookers bring STD's, which most men don't want, along with that back catalog, which most don't want either.

I'm married, so we share my income as a family, including our 11-year-old son. Unfortunately as a Laotian my wife can't legally work in Thailand.

Whoever is the best with finances handles them without any argument. Control like that doesn't belong in a marriage, on either side. Balance is what works. The many couples I've known that are going great are a team, and still to this date. My brother was married to his wife 44 years until he passed, and both worked, and did what they did best. She misses him to this day.
