Getting A Visa For China In Bangkok

Featured Replies

I am an American citizen living in Thailand and have a sick relative in Shanghai. After looking at earlier posts here, I am confused as to whether I can get a visa in one day for China at the Chinese embassy in Bangkok. Anyone have current info on this? Information much appreciated.

i'm not sure about 1 day as you would have to go back and collect your passport the next day or so. i could not get a visa in hong kong in 1 day. i think it took 3 days for my visa to be processed.

but what i do know is that the chinese embassy in bkk is like a cattle market. i was there last year with my chinese friend and they were so unhelpful to her. we ended up having to pay the agents that hang around outside the embassy to help us which they did through bribes to there connections,

very dodgy

It's been a few years, but I got mine in one day. It cost a bunch more, but that was OK with me. Go in early and then come back in the afternoon to pick it up.

traveled many time to China. Express visa the same day (Songkhla).

I am also applying for a Chinese visa this week.

You can do it yourself but I'm planning on using a travel agent. I visited them last week to check and they quoted 3700 for a one-day turn around - need to get the passport, forms, photos etc to them at 9 am.

PM if you want the agent's details.

You can get a same day visa at the counsulate. But it will cost you double price though. Submit the forms in the morning and pickup later in the afternoon.
