More suspected prostitutes picked-up by Police on Pattaya Beach

PATTAYA: -- The Pattaya Police Social Order Crackdown continues with a further beach clean-up in the early hours of Tuesday on Pattaya Beach which resulted in the arrest of 70 people – 30 women and 40 transsexuals. Once again they were profiled and fined 100 Baht before being allowed to leave. Although the small fine is unlikely to result in eradication of the beach prostitutes, it is clearly having an effect as later on in the morning the beach was deserted. At around the same time as the arrests took place an Iranian tourist aged 45 came to Pattaya Police Station to make a complaint regarding the alleged theft of 800 US Dollars from his trouser pocket by a transsexual

Prostitutes on beach road? i dont believe it :whistling:

If people would just spend all their time in the shopping malls like they should do, they would never see the beach road prostitutes. So clearly it doesn't exist.

And an Iranian walking around with 800$, its hard to believe that anybody can be that stupid and carry that amount of money in your pocket at night, unless you are very rich off course.

These are quality tourists. What's the problem?

He-he, sure they are, looking for a cheap short-timer. As long as somebody buy girls -boys- katoys and whatever on the beach it will be hard to get rid of the problem, unless the police is there every night and show their presence, but that is properly too much to ask for.

Let's just hope the prostitution doesn't spread to any other parts of Pattaya -- or the rest of Thailand!

And if he had left it in the hotel safe and it got broken into, no doubt some members would label him stupid for trusting the hotel safe! He was not stupid, merely unfortunate.

Its better to trust the hotel safe (if you live in a fairly decent hotel) than your pocket.

So yes this guy is stupid in my opinion.

I would find it more interesting to know why they didn't raid the Russian gogo bars on Walking Street, checking for trafficking, work permits etc.

Is pattaya hosting a big event in the coming days/weeks?

Agreed, he'd have been better off hiding the money under his mattress than carrying it around Pattaya or, in fact, any town/city in the world late at night.

Stupid is as stupid does.

They never learn because they're newbie tourists who have probably never traveled before.
