there are plenty normal, decent and lovely thai women who use the internet as a dating method.

there are also plenty of scamming, lying gold digging slags using it, but they are easy to spot and ignore.

What to look for and be aware of? I think common sense prevails here. If they are scantily dressed, flashing their breasts or similar they are not really Good Thai Girls. Look also at what time of day they are on line. Many sites give the time the person was last on line. If they are on at 2 3 or 4 in the morning, why are they? Have they finished working bar and now on line to look for another mug? As previously said, their location. Saying that, some in Pattaya and Phuket say they are working in a hotel or as a receptionist or similar. Surely a bit of common sense will allow you to check that out.

Whatever, good hunting and consider that most Thai women would not go on line to find a man. Your local restaurant or local club / bar might be a better place, as long as it does not have bar girls working there.

Another idea is to ask around where the Thai people go for a night out. Become a regular face and you will soon be picked up

I think you are off-base with this. I am not sure what the age cut-off would be, but younger Thai women grew up with social websites such as Facebook, Teenee, and the like, so for them, is is a very natural and logical progression to try the internet dating sites.

Of course, some placing profiles on the dating sites are scammers, but then again, so are some of the men. One very common complaint amongst Thai women, if you believe the Thai chat rooms and forums, is that men just try to get them to take off their clothes on cam. I would imagine that many of the men are married back in their home countries and are merely trying to score some cam sex.

It is not that hard to winnow the wheat from the chaff. Just use common sense, and you should be able to find plenty of potential mates.
